Packing & Crating
If your shipment is destined for export, it is very important that the packing materials are compliant with International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM15). This basically requires all wood packaging materials (including skids) to meet standards outlined by the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC).
We provide compliant crating services. We offer this service in two ways:
- Custom Form Crating - We will pick up your shipment and build the frame and crate directly around your freight. This method works best with machinery, auto parts, and other items that are not easily moved by hand. (This service limited to Southwest and Central Virginia)
- Basic Crating - We build and deliver an empty crate to meet your specifications. The most common crate we build is 48" x 48" x 48" (outside dimensions). However, we can make them to most any size you need, using the thickness of plywood that fits your application. The crate will come complete with a lid that you simply unscrew, pack, and ship.
